Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior coaching experience preferred
- availability to work scheduled hours on Saturdays and Mondays
- ability to communicate effectively with youth and adults
- commitment to professional and respectful conduct
- ability to attend continuing education and staff meetings
- reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years previous coaching experience preferred
- 5+ years competitive skating experience preferred
- knowledge of the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills program
- knowledge of generally accepted coaching techniques
- skill in organizing large groups of skaters
- ability to maintain effective working relationships with instructors and management
Job Duties
- Provide instruction to youth and adults
- demonstrate proper use of equipment and techniques
- explain and enforce safety rules and regulations
- keep records and coordinate events
- keep management and parents informed of activities and issues
- record attendance at each class
- instruct students on elements of their class level
- evaluate students on testing day and complete required forms
- input student levels into registration program
- encourage appropriate student behavior
- model respectful behavior and language
- attend continuing education seminars
- participate in staff meetings
- assist the Skating Coordinator with duties
- notify about absences and arrange substitutes
- complete additional assigned duties
