Job Requirements

  • Previously DoD tactically trained fighter pilot
  • qualified 4-Ship/Division Flight Lead
  • 700 hours pilot in command fixed wing DOD fighter
  • 100 hours pilot in command night
  • logged 100 hours PIC past 12 months
  • current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
  • FAA Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land privileges
  • secret security clearance
  • US citizen
  • Navy contract: 1000 hours PIC military tactical aircraft
  • 500 hours PIC fixed wing DOD fighter
  • Air Force contract: 1200 hours PIC tactical military aircraft
  • current tactical fighter within 5 years

Job Qualifications

  • 700 hours pilot in command of fixed wing DOD-operated fighter aircraft
  • 100 hours pilot in command at night
  • logged 100 hours PIC time in past 12 months

  • US citizen
  • For Navy contracts: 1000 hours PIC of military tactical aircraft, 500 hours PIC of fixed wing DOD-operated fighter aircraft
  • For Air Force contracts: 1200 hours total PIC tactical military aircraft, current tactical fighter within last 5 years
  • desired qualifications include USAF WIC graduate, USAF adversary qualification, USNFWS/NAWDC/TOPGUN graduate, TPS graduate, DoD military instructor pilot, mission commander qualification, flight examiner qualification, functional check flight pilot qualification, NVG instructor, CRM instructor, FAA CFI(I) certificate, familiarity with DoD commercial air services, FAA Authorized Experimental Aircraft privileges, DoD Safety School or Board President Course graduate, squadron command experience, active fighter flying with history

Job Duties

  • Employ the ATAC fighter aircraft as adversary, Red Air, aggressor or close air support pilot for US Navy, Marine Corps and USAF aircrew
  • Maintain FAA instrument currency, Second Class medical certification, adversary mission qualifications and mission currencies
  • Attend mass briefings, adversary coordination briefings and other pre-flight briefings
  • Plan, fly adversary missions and accomplish flight debriefings
  • Adhere to training rules and maneuvering restrictions
  • Collect and disseminate lessons learned
  • Deploy as required to support missions
  • Act as or support pilot scheduling, training, NATOPS/Standards & Evaluation, safety or program management duties
