Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • valid driver’s license
  • certification in at least one VMS system
  • certification in at least one structured cabling system
  • minimum one year experience in installation or equivalent
  • ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • basic knowledge of networking principles
  • basic knowledge of IP camera technology and controller hardware
  • ability to terminate and test category and fiber optic cables
  • basic knowledge of low voltage principles including ohm’s law and load calculations
  • ability to read blueprints and specifications
  • strong communication skills
  • willingness to mentor others

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • valid driver’s license
  • current certification in at least one Video Management System (VMS)
  • current certification in at least one structured cabling system
  • minimum one year experience as an installer or equivalent position
  • ability to read and comprehend blueprints and line diagrams
  • good communication skills with customers
  • willingness and ability to mentor junior technicians

Job Duties

  • Install structured cabling systems including copper, fiber, and low-voltage
  • install network switches, wireless access points, and other IP devices
  • install various CCTV systems including analog and IP cameras
  • install Network Video Recorders and Video Management System platforms
  • install cable pathway systems
  • install, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal and backbone cables
  • learn installation best practices from lead technicians
  • work collaboratively with project managers, lead technicians, and other field technicians
  • keep track of daily tasks and hours worked
  • assist with clean-up
  • participate in project commissioning and testing
  • perform other duties as required
  • learn new skills independently
