Job Requirements
- Associate's Degree or related trade certification or equivalent military training
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical or mechanical field service
- ability to travel daily within Detroit area including airports
- ability to pass federal background investigation for Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access
- must be able to lift/carry up to 80 lbs
- must be able to push/pull 200 lbs
- must be able to move/manipulate equipment up to 1000 lbs with assistance
- ability to work in extreme environments safely
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- excellent customer service skills
- self-motivated and reliable
- excellent telephone skills
- willingness to travel at short notice
- comply with company health, safety and environmental policies
- comply with U.S. export control and security regulations
Job Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or related trade certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields
- military training in electrical, mechanical, or electronics is acceptable
- 1-3 years of experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems
- computer literacy with competency in MS Office Suite and aptitude for specialized software
- excellent communication skills
- strong customer focus and teamwork orientation
- ability to travel at short notice
- experience working in field service roles involving electrical or mechanical systems
Job Duties
- Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction
- installs, repairs and maintains equipment in the field
- provides customer training as required
- documents all inspections, maintenance, repair work and submits paperwork in a timely basis
- orders, installs and returns parts and manages repair parts cycle time
- reviews all logs for open issues and prepares formal reports to customers as necessary
- participates in service sales opportunities and assists with promoting and implementing revenue programs
- ensures that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
- assesses product/equipment performance based on field support data
- recommends modifications or improvements
- seeks to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required
- may participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attend meetings
- maintains clear and concise business communication, both oral and written
- establishes and maintains a close relationship with senior level FSE's and product managers to support customer needs and stay aware of technical trends
- exercises every available measure to control and minimize costs
- complies with company health, safety and environmental policies
- complies with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations
- other duties as required
