Job Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Minimum of four years of FAA or US Military operational ATC experience or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems related to ATC Simulation Systems
  • Certification requirements as needed for Remote Pilot Operations
  • Ability to perform start-up, shut-down, and back-up system procedures
  • Must be able to use simple hand tools
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. without restriction
  • Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements required
  • Willingness to travel more than 50%
  • No telework available
  • Degree from approved AT-CTI college or university is acceptable

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years of FAA or US Military operational ATC experience, or a minimum of four years of combined FAA and US Military operational ATC experience, or a degree in Air Traffic Control or Air Traffic Management from an AT-CTI institution
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and operating system software similar to or more complex than the ATC Simulation Systems (Tower and Radar)
  • Certification for Remote Pilot Operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage work time effectively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Team player proficient in conflict resolution

Job Duties

  • Troubleshoot and maintain TSS hardware components
  • Fault isolate and replace displays, monitors, and computer equipment/peripherals such as hard drives, video cards, desktops/laptops, printers
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve software problems
  • Perform step-by-step procedures for acquiring and installing software upgrades and patches
  • Evaluate local conditions and make proper decisions with Contractor’s TSSC
  • Load operating systems and applications as required
  • Update existing software and site data as required
  • Perform start-up and shut-down procedures
  • Perform system back-up procedures
  • Train FAA personnel on TSS maintenance and operation
  • Operate TSS for proficiency, recurrent, and qualification training
  • Brief FAA and Contractor management on simulator performance and utilization
  • Develop and maintain site simulator utilization reports reflecting frequency and type of training done
  • Backup and manage scenario data
  • Act as a Pseudo Pilot simulating aircraft movement and communication with ATCT controllers
  • Develop tower simulation scenarios incorporating training objectives
  • Train personnel to create and maintain scenarios as requested
