Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer hardware and operating system software similar to or more complex than ATC Simulation Systems (Tower and Radar)
- minimum of four years of FAA or US Military operational ATC experience, or a minimum of four years of combined FAA and US Military operational ATC experience
- degree in Air Traffic Control or Air Traffic Management from an AT-CTI accredited college or university
- proactive and self-motivated
- ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
- good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- high attention to detail
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work well in a team and proficient at conflict resolution
Job Duties
- Troubleshoot and maintain TSS hardware components
- fault isolate and replace displays, monitors, and computer equipment/peripherals such as hard drives, video cards, desktops/laptops, printers
- troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve software problems
- perform step-by-step procedures for acquiring and installing software upgrades and patches
- evaluate local conditions and make proper decisions in conjunction with the Contractor's TSSC
- load operating systems and applications as required
- update existing software and site data
- perform start-up and shut-down procedures
- perform system back-up procedures
- train FAA personnel on TSS maintenance and operation
- operate TSS for proficiency, recurrent, and qualification training
- brief FAA and Contractor management on simulator performance and utilization
- develop and maintain site simulator utilization reports
- backup and manage scenario data
- act as a pseudo pilot when needed by simulating aircraft movement and communication with ATCT controllers
- develop tower simulation scenarios including building step-by-step procedures, incorporating training objectives, creating scenarios with minimal assistance, and training personnel on scenario creation and maintenance
