Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Hold a valid California Driver's License or equivalent by day one
- Maintain a valid Class A California Driver's License Permit by day one
- Have four or more years of journey-level mechanic experience
- Able to work in extreme weather
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Able to climb, bend, kneel, squat, or crawl
- Able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and overtime
- Willing to wear personal protective equipment
- Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions
- Capable of managing multiple maintenance tasks and changing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Record of at least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Valid California Driver's License or equivalent by day one of hire
- Valid Class A California Driver's License Permit by day one of hire
- Four or more years of experience as a certified journey-level mechanic
- Experience working with light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment service and repair
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Ability to climb, bend, kneel, squat, or crawl as needed
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and overtime
- Willingness to wear company-provided personal protective equipment
- Experience with air brakes, hydraulics, heavy-duty diesel equipment, and regulated inspections preferred
- Experience with vehicle electrical and electronic systems
- Experience with welding, fabricating, and reading schematics and blueprints
- Residence within 50 miles of job headquarters preferred
- Ownership of own tools and toolbox preferred
Job Duties
- Work safely according to PG&E safety standards and procedures
- Inspect vehicle and equipment components and document needed adjustments
- Conduct visual, auditory, and operational inspections to diagnose problems
- Use hand and power tools to disassemble, access, repair, and reassemble equipment
- Perform oil changes, tune-ups, and repairs on diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles
- Drive midsize, heavy-duty, and specialized vehicles to job sites and contracted repair facilities
- Maintain clean and safe job areas and manage records of completed work
