Job Requirements
- Engineering or technology degree from an accredited university
- expert knowledge of building codes, NEC, field evaluations, conformity standards
- eight years of directly related experience
- experience with electrical test equipment and conducting electrical tests
- demonstrated project handling and problem-solving abilities
- classified hazardous locations experience
- residence near Madison, WI, Racine, WI, Central to Southern Wisconsin or Chicagoland area due to travel demands
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, industrial technology, manufacturing technology, or physics from an ABET accredited program preferred
- expert knowledge of National Electrical Code and building codes
- expertise in field evaluations and conformity standards
- experience with hazardous location classifications
- demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving new or modified products
- working knowledge of industry issues and trends
- familiarity with hazard-based safety engineering concepts
- proficiency in using electrical test equipment
- effective communication and client management skills
Job Duties
- Conduct on-site engineering evaluations to assess product compliance
- review documentation and perform visual and mechanical inspections
- evaluate product suitability for installation according to applicable codes such as NEC
- conduct electrical testing using specialized equipment
- prepare detailed engineering reports documenting findings
- communicate with clients and authorities to explain procedures and resolve issues
- represent UL Solutions at industry meetings and present technical topics
- develop test requirements and special testing methods for unique or complex products
- serve as project handler and reviewer for assigned evaluations
- provide leadership and technical advice on special projects
