Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, recreation or events
  • IFEA or TFEA certification or ability to obtain within two years
  • Previous festival management experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and hospitality skills
  • Ability to work weekends, long hours, and stand for extended periods
  • Pass credit and federal/national criminal background check
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and functional assessment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead large projects and manage budgets

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, recreation, or events management or equivalent education and experience
  • Certification from IFEA (International Festivals and Events Association) or TFEA (Texas Festivals and Events Association) preferred or ability to obtain within two years
  • Prior festival or event management experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Knowledge of Grapevine’s attractions and amenities
  • Ability to lead large projects and teams
  • Financial and budgeting expertise
  • Negotiation and contracting skills
  • Customer service and hospitality excellence

Job Duties

  • Plan and promote annual festivals and cultural events
  • Foster positive relations with local merchants, businesses, hotels, attractions, residents, and government agencies
  • Develop annual themes and marketable activities for each festival and event
  • Recruit and lead community volunteers and develop volunteer leadership
  • Secure regional and national sponsorships
  • Manage budgets for multiple festivals and events
  • Coordinate communication among city officials, businesses, committees, and the public
  • Conduct research and analyze event performance
  • Present reports to executive directors, city councils, and community groups
  • Ensure compliance with city goals and accurate representation of facilities and services
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of events from planning through execution
