Job Requirements
- Four years of experience in event planning
- Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work long hours including evenings, early mornings, and weekends
- Ability to move materials weighing 25-30 pounds
- Capability to work in all weather conditions during events
- Availability to work a variable schedule not exceeding 1000 hours per year
- No eligibility for benefits
- Must work under the direction of the town Event Coordinator/PIO
Job Qualifications
- Four years of experience in event planning
- Direct experience planning and managing large-scale festivals or events
- Proven ability to develop and manage detailed project timelines, budgets, and schedules
- Strong leadership skills to coordinate volunteers, staff, and vendors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience managing relationships and negotiating with vendors and community partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with event planning software and ticketing platforms preferred
- Knowledge of audio/visual and staging technologies preferred
- Experience working with local governments preferred
- Ability to build and maintain partnerships with local businesses and organizations preferred
Job Duties
- Develop and manage the festival budget and sponsorships
- Coordinate event logistics including permits, vendor relations, and schedules
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers
- Engage with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure event success
- Resolve event-related challenges swiftly and effectively
- Oversee on-site event operations to ensure smooth execution
- Produce post-event evaluations to guide future improvements
