Job Requirements

  • prior food service or cashier work experience
  • ability to follow directions, read, and communicate in English
  • ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators, and other related personnel
  • computer skills as required
  • willingness to follow food safety rules and hygiene standards
  • ability to perform medium physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds regularly
  • valid Florida driver's license (preferred)
  • high school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • bilingual skills (preferred)

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning
  • participate in ongoing state-approved training and educational initiatives
  • demonstrate and promote exceptional customer service
  • operate point-of-sale systems according to federal guidelines
  • adhere to food safety rules, departmental procedures, and HACCP standards
  • perform kitchen duties including pre-preparation, food production, service, backup, clean-up, and check-in orders
  • assist in ensuring safe meal service and quality food according to approved meal pattern requirements
  • assist with ordering, proper storage, and inventories of supplies and food items
  • follow written recipes and document food preparation details
  • operate food service equipment safely
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation practices
  • perform necessary cleaning of equipment and facilities
  • drive vans and refrigerated trucks for food delivery and maintenance
  • ensure compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies
  • participate in training programs
  • review current developments related to job responsibilities
  • ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures
  • follow federal and state laws and school board policies
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
