Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Valid Hawaii Teaching License or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience in culinary arts instruction
  • Knowledge of ServSafe and food safety standards
  • Ability to create and deliver curriculum
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness to engage with industry partners and students outside the classroom

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Education, or related field preferred
  • Valid Hawaii Teaching License or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience teaching culinary arts or related subjects
  • Knowledge of industry standards and food safety regulations
  • Ability to develop and implement curriculum aligned with program goals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience collaborating with local businesses and community partners

Job Duties

  • Teach fundamental and advanced culinary techniques
  • Provide instruction on food preparation methods
  • Teach baking skills and proper food presentation
  • Instruct on food safety and sanitation principles such as ServSafe
  • Educate students about nutrition and foodservice business aspects like recipe costing and inventory
  • Guide students through the Culinary Arts Program within the Hospitality pathway
  • Act as an industry liaison to foster partnerships with local culinary businesses for internships, field trips, and competitions
  • Coordinate real-world catering events for student experiential learning
