Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Two years of experience in market operations management or similar duties
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Knowledge or familiarization with farmers markets
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse groups
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage challenging situations with patience and sound judgment
  • Organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail
  • Competent use of computers including Microsoft Office and market software
  • Basic knowledge of event coordination and logistics
  • Ability to understand and interpret budgets

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day market operations including vendor booth assignments, setup and breakdown, vendor and public relations, fee collection, and documentation
  • Plan and schedule seasonal activities including musical performances, food trucks, and community booths
  • Manage vendor relationships ensuring compliance with market rules and regulations
  • Solicit new vendors, screen applications, and support vendor success
  • Operate SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks programs and serve as liaison to state agencies
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies including social media management and community promotions
  • Maintain financial records including vendor fee collection, reconciliation, invoicing, and assessment of fines
  • Supervise seasonal market staff, schedule shifts, and ensure coverage during market hours
  • Assist with special city events and perform other assigned duties as needed
