The Food & Beverage Manager position is a pivotal leadership role within the hospitality industry, specifically at hotels that offer dining and event services. Job Requirements
- relevant education or equivalent experience
- minimum 2 years experience in food and beverage management
- proven ability to lead and develop teams
- comprehensive knowledge of food safety and alcohol service regulations
- excellent organizational and financial management skills
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- capability to work in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of food and beverage management experience (hotel preferred)
- strong understanding of food cost control and labor management
- experience with inventory management and purchasing
- knowledge of health and alcohol compliance regulations
- proven leadership and team development skills
- ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain
Job Duties
- oversee daily restaurant, bar, and banquet operations
- lead by example through visible floor presence during peak service periods and events
- ensure compliance with all brand standards and local health regulations
- maintain high levels of guest satisfaction and service quality
- conduct monthly food and beverage inventory
- order food, beverage, alcohol, and operational supplies
- maintain accurate inventory records and cost controls
- minimize waste, theft, and product loss
- ensure proper storage and rotation following FIFO standards
- manage food and beverage costs within approved monthly budget
- monitor labor costs to meet productivity targets
- prepare and submit payroll accurately and on time
- review invoices and reconcile vendor statements
- identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- recruit, hire, train, and coach food and beverage team members
- ensure team members are properly trained in food handling, sanitation procedures, alcohol service compliance, and brand service standards
- create and manage weekly schedules based on business demand
- work shifts as bartender, server, line cook, or banquet attendant as directed by leadership
- conduct performance reviews and corrective action when necessary
- work banquet and catering events as required
- coordinate with Sales and Operations to execute banquet event orders accurately
- ensure proper staffing and setup for all events
- monitor service timing and quality during functions
- ensure adherence to all local health department regulations
- maintain ServSafe and alcohol certification requirements
- enforce safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
- ensure proper documentation and reporting procedures are followed
