Job Requirements

  • Long hours sometimes required
  • Medium work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage
  • Maintain regular attendance as per scheduling needs
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel standards for safe and efficient operations
  • Effective in handling problems including anticipating and solving them
  • Must maintain confidentiality of information
  • Must perform other duties as requested by management
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • or a 4-year college degree
  • or a 2-year college degree and 1 or more years of related experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented approach
  • Ability to listen to and clarify concerns
  • Experience in conducting staff performance reviews
  • Knowledge of SOPs and compliance regulations
  • Ability to participate in training and development activities
  • Experience with payroll and scheduling systems
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the outlet
  • Supervise outlet personnel
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
  • Work with other F&B managers and keep them informed of issues
  • Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of problems or matters requiring attention
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring all phases of Loss Prevention in the outlet
  • Prepare and submit required reports timely
  • Ensure preparation of payroll, revenue, employee schedules, wage progress, and quarterly action plans
  • Monitor quality of service in F&B outlet
  • Assist in menu planning and preparation
  • Ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and requisition procedures in all outlets
  • Be visible on the floor and assist staff during each meal period
  • Conduct staff performance reviews
  • Ensure training on SOPs and technical job tasks
  • Participate in departmental and hotel training programs
  • Interview candidates for front-of-house F&B positions
  • Complete tip reporting
  • Implement and monitor corporate promotions and buffet standards
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
