Job Description
Detroit Tigers is a renowned Major League Baseball team with a rich history and a passionate fan base. As a leading sports franchise, the Tigers organization is dedicated to delivering exceptional baseball entertainment as well as enhancing the overall fan experience at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan. Known for its commitment to community involvement and fan engagement, the Detroit Tigers continuously innovate various programs and events to captivate and entertain fans throughout the baseball season.
The Fan Experience Seasonal Assistant role is a pivotal part of the Tigers Game Presentation and Fan Experience department. This seasonal position is dedicated to ensuring that every Detroit Tigers home game offers a memorable and engaging experience to fans attending games at Comerica Park. The assistant works closely with the team to plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of special events and theme nights that celebrate diverse cultural themes and community values, such as Opening Day, Strike Out Cancer Weekend, Black in Baseball, Star Wars, Bark in the Park, Friday Night Party in the Park, Fiesta Tigres, and Fan Appreciation among others.
In this capacity, the seasonal assistant will also manage the booking and coordination of entertainment groups and vendors that bring energy and excitement to theme nights and game day activations. The role involves hands-on execution of on-field presentations including ceremonial first pitches, in-game fan activities, and other fan-facing entertainment features designed to maximize enjoyment and participation. Additionally, the assistant will conduct research on trends and best practices within Major League Baseball and other professional sports to implement innovative enhancements to the events hosted at Comerica Park.
One of the key responsibilities includes taking ownership of specific programs such as the PAWS off-site and in-game appearances, the effective management of the game day entertainment team known as the Rally Cats, coordination of the Chevy Military Salute program, the planning and execution of Chevy Sunday Kids Days, and the booking of National Anthems, Honor Guards, Ceremonial First Pitches, Game Ball Delivery, and various other in-game elements.
Ideal candidates for this role will have earned or be in progress toward a bachelor’s degree in fields relevant to sports management, marketing, or business administration. A background or prior experience in sports or live entertainment industries is preferred, alongside excellent customer service abilities. The role demands individuals who can thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and creative problem-solving capabilities. Because this position requires regular on-site presence and involvement during games and special events, candidates must be available for the entire baseball season and willing to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Joining the Detroit Tigers as a Fan Experience Seasonal Assistant provides a unique opportunity to be closely involved with one of Major League Baseball's iconic franchises and to contribute to creating unforgettable moments for thousands of passionate fans. This seasonal role is vital in supporting the excellence and excitement that the Tigers organization is committed to delivering every step of the way.
