Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work experience in domestic violence, social services, human services or related field preferred
  • College course study in social work, psychology, sociology or related field preferred
  • Completion of 40 hours of domestic violence training
  • Written and verbal bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of homelessness, domestic violence dynamics, and trauma-informed practices
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to operate general office equipment
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license with reliable vehicle and insurance
  • Ability to travel overnight and work occasional weekend or evening events
  • Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic meeting tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated values consistent with FVPP

Job Duties

  • Staff on-site at confidential shelter during scheduled shifts
  • Comply with FVPP Program Manual and policies
  • Provide confidential support and safety planning for victims of domestic violence and homelessness
  • Maintain accurate records and enter monthly program statistics
  • Clean and maintain shelter rooms, common areas, and offices
  • Assist with donations, fundraising, and special projects
  • Participate in trainings, networking events, and staff meetings
