Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with families children or community-based programs
  • Experience in program coordination event planning or family engagement preferred
  • Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekends

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in education recreation social work or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with families children or community-based programs
  • Experience in program coordination event planning or family engagement preferred
  • Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekends

Job Duties

  • Serve as a family retention and engagement specialist building strong relationships with families to encourage ongoing participation and connection to YMCA programs
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the family experience and remove barriers to engagement
  • Collaborate with membership childcare and program staff to support family pathways across the Y
  • Plan coordinate and attend Family Fun Friday events including programming logistics setup breakdown and on-site engagement
  • Coordinate the Stay & Play program including supervision scheduling and assisting with hiring training and supporting staff
  • Ensure all family programs are developmentally appropriate inclusive and aligned with YMCA standards and safety guidelines
  • Link families to YMCA offerings and relevant community resources by serving as a community program connector
  • Build relationships with community partners schools and organizations to enhance family engagement and referral pathways
  • Represent the YMCA at community events and outreach opportunities as needed
  • Split time between Hogan Family YMCA and Southeast Family YMCA to ensure consistent program delivery and presence at both branches
  • Coordinate schedules resources and communication across locations
  • Track participation engagement and feedback to support continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate program documentation schedules and reports
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA policies child safety standards and risk management procedures
  • Assist with marketing and promotion of family programs in collaboration with branch teams
