Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or older
- ability to work with children and to supervise others
- CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
- college credits in human services, recreation, physical education, or related fields and/or at least 1 year of related experience
- ability to work a flexible schedule
- willingness to certify in babysitter instructor training, Red Cross CPR/First Aid, and medication/Epi-pen training if applicable
- experience with Microsoft Office
- strong communication skills with all ages
- interpersonal and coaching skills
- supervisory experience preferred
- commitment to YMCA core values and mission
- ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds
- ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as job requires

Job Duties
- Provide excellent customer service to all members, staff, volunteers, and guests by building positive relationships through welcoming engagement and use of names
- communicate clearly, professionally, and positively using YMCA Listen First principles
- demonstrate commitment to the YMCA mission, competencies, and core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect
- foster a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants, staff, and families
- ensure compliance with all YMCA policies and procedures, including human resources, finance, safety, risk management, employee handbook, and emergency response guidelines
- maintain high standards of program quality and safety in all assigned programs
- assist with supervising, developing, scheduling, and supporting department staff and volunteers
- motivate and engage staff and volunteers through regular meetings and in-service training to support retention and mission alignment
- work hands-on in programming for all scheduled shifts, including leading activities when coverage is unavailable
- collaborate with other directors and departments to support YMCA programs and operations
- participate in management meetings, YMCA trainings, and association activities as assigned
- assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing family events, birthday parties, and special programs
- perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
