Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field
  • Three years progressive experience in administrative, customer-facing, communications role
  • At least one year experience managing a function, operations, nonprofit program or staff
  • Administrative or operations experience with camps or nonprofit youth development programs preferred
  • Experience managing digital communications such as social media and email campaigns is a plus
  • Current and valid driver’s license for local driving
  • Proficiency using Office suites, Canva, CRM systems, social media platforms
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work in busy, dynamic, often noisy environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Must operate in hybrid setting including onsite during camping season

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field
  • Three years progressive experience in administrative, customer-facing, communications roles
  • At least one year managing or coordinating operations, nonprofit programs or staff
  • Experience in nonprofit youth development programs preferred
  • Experience managing digital communications including social media and email campaigns
  • Proficiency with computers, Office suite, Canva, CRM systems, social media platforms
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Familiarity with Jewish traditions and pluralistic approaches preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current camp families
  • Respond promptly and warmly to inquiries from families
  • Guide new families through the enrollment process ensuring a supportive experience
  • Address questions about programs, policies, logistics, and schedules professionally
  • Triage family concerns to appropriate staff ensuring timely follow-up
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications
  • Manage family newsletters and mass communications year-round
  • Partner with Leadership and Marketing Teams on crisis communications
  • Collaborate with program staff to document and share camp stories, photos, and videos
  • Manage family surveys and data collection
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners including religious schools, synagogues, and day schools
  • Connect and partner with JCC family and community coordinators
  • Manage Camp Grossman’s Family Ambassador volunteers
  • Plan and manage camper recruitment and engagement events
  • Partner with Development team on alumni engagement strategies
  • Coordinate facility rentals and event staffing with JCC Events Manager
  • Actively create a welcoming dynamic for all individuals
  • Participate as an essential member of the Camping team
  • Support JCC Greater Boston’s mission, vision, and values
  • Attend staff and all-staff meetings
  • Supervise camp photographers, videographers, social media and marketing interns
  • Conduct supervisory meetings providing guidance and direction
  • Evaluate assigned staff maintaining high quality of instruction and safety
  • Uphold JCC policies and model alignment
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work culture
  • Provide constructive feedback and course correction
  • Perform time and attendance reporting for supervisees
