Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Knowledge of Culinary Arts or related field
  • Experience supervising employees in a team environment
  • Experience with public speaking
  • Experience working with varied individuals and groups
  • Excellent organization and customer service skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet
  • Ability to work outside normal business days and weekends
  • Available part-time January to December with increased hours May to August
  • Available to work the 23 days of the OC Fair including entry delivery days
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and lead the Culinary program for the OC Fair and Event Center including hiring, training and overseeing 122-day staff
  • Secure and coordinate all aspects of judging, demonstrators and/or exhibits for the Culinary program and competitive contests
  • Create and prepare paperwork for logistics needs prior to the event and post-event evaluations
  • Act as a liaison and outreach to the Culinary community to encourage participation
  • Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to promote Culinary programs and competitions
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the public and community partners
  • Assist in development and preparation of competition guides, websites, email blasts and related material
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to develop improvements for the Culinary Program
  • Manage the department budget and provide information for future budget planning
  • Interact with and manage exhibitors and public needs professionally
  • Collaborate closely with OCFEC Exhibits and Education supervisors and staff to ensure project consistency
