Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field
  • at least two years of IT professional experience in programming, networking, cybersecurity, database management, or related field
  • possession of or ability to obtain Colorado CTE credential
  • knowledge of best practices in teaching in post-secondary settings
  • expertise in software development, networking, database management, or cybersecurity
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office and Learning Management System
  • able to read and communicate in English
  • mobility around campus
  • able to lift 15 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Teaches courses as assigned within faculty workload guidelines
  • meets all scheduled classes unless canceled or excused
  • presents instruction via classroom, hybrid, or online modalities
  • attends required department, division, and college meetings and trainings
  • serves as substitute for absent colleagues for short-term absences
  • maintains a work schedule with a minimum of 24 hours on campus
  • holds regularly scheduled office hours for student consultation
  • performs student advisement and registration
  • implements culturally relevant pedagogy for an inclusive learning environment
  • prepares course material adequately
  • supervises and enforces safety procedures
  • assists in curriculum development and cooperative planning
  • assists with instructor training and materials preparation
  • leads and coaches the PCC Esports team including recruitment, practice scheduling, and competition participation
  • promotes Esports and CIS programs at community and campus events
  • oversees day-to-day Esports Lab operations including scheduling and activity monitoring
  • maintains and updates lab computers, gaming systems, networking equipment, and peripherals
  • supervises work-study positions with task and performance management
  • coordinates equipment upkeep, inventory tracking, and replacement for Esports Lab systems and technology
  • participates in college-wide assessment of student learning activities and projects
  • assists in program reviews and evaluation
  • supports marketing, recruitment, and retention activities
  • serves on college committees or task forces
  • represents the college in the community as requested
  • participates in the annual graduation ceremony
