The Facility Support Technician role at Hospice of the Valley is a full-time, day-shift position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week from 8 am to 5 pm. This role is integral to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming physical environment across Hospice of the Valley facilities. The technician provides a range of services including general housekeeping, day porter duties, and preventative maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in patient rooms and communal areas, performing routine maintenance such as painting, changing light bulbs, and assembling furniture, and supporting efficient facility operations through proactive observation and management. The Facility Support Technician also plays a key role in logistics by moving boxed items and furnishings between locations and managing supplies by monitoring inventory and notifying purchasing when restocking is necessary. This position demands a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who contributes to the organization's mission by ensuring that the healthcare environment meets the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and comfort. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of grounds maintenance, light maintenance and/or housekeeping experience
  • Minimum three years of previous driving experience
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile

Job Duties

  • Provides quality housekeeping, day porter and preventative maintenance services
  • Takes proactive steps to assure safe, well maintained, welcoming and efficient facility operations through daily observation, anticipation of potential problems and monitoring service delivery
  • Performs thorough housekeeping tasks including removing debris, cleaning patios and patio furniture and washing windows
  • Provides general building cleaning services including cleaning patient rooms when needed
  • Performs day porter and courier services
  • Moves boxed items and furnishings between locations
  • Performs preventative and light maintenance duties such as assembling furniture, painting, changing air filters, light bulbs, and batteries
  • Stocks and monitors supplies and notifies purchasing department when additional supplies are needed
  • Maintains safe work environment
  • Maintains and enhances professional skills
  • Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct
