Job Requirements
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid Idaho driver's license
- ability to work a flexible schedule including long or unusual hours, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime, including a 24-hr call out in order to respond to unforeseen events
- attend SLD Safety Training twice a year
- position has been designated safety sensitive and therefore the incumbent is subject to random drug testing
- ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 pounds
- ability to operate motor vehicles safely, including a willingness to learn how to operate a backhoe, forklift, and dump truck
Job Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience preferred
- knowledge of the methods, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of facilities preferred
- knowledge of how to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with simple fractions to measure material according to requirements and dimensions outlined in instructions
- knowledge of landscape maintenance
- knowledge of workplace safety procedures and protocols
- ability to interact effectively with co-workers
- ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions
- ability to provide excellent customer service to clients and patrons
- ability to operate equipment and tools safely
- ability to read and understand maintenance/service manuals
Job Duties
- Ensures that facilities are set-up, presentable, and meets client's expectations for interim events
- assists, sets-up, and provides power needs and other amenities for interim events
- performs light janitorial duties to maintain overall cleanliness of facilities
- maintains grounds
- conducts routine, preventative maintenance on tools or building equipment
- inspects and examines buildings, fixtures, and other functional systems to determine the need for repair or maintenance
- records documentation of maintenance and repair work
- performs a variety of minor building or landscaping maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, and sprinkler repair
- assists in a helper capacity in more semi-skilled work such as plumbing, electrical, or related tasks
- uses a variety of hand and power tools
- may train to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts, as needed
- communicates with clients and co-workers in an effective and professional manner
- assists Event Coordinator, Security, and other staff to accomplish needed tasks
- transports, follows policies, and supervises crews with Sheriff's Labor Detail (SLD) in the performance of a wide variety of unskilled labor tasks
- performs related functions as required
