- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers and polishers
- Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and chemicals
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require bending, lifting and standing for extended periods
Job Duties
- Clean floors by sweeping, vacuuming and washing using appropriate supplies and equipment
- Clean interior surfaces such as walls, ceilings, windows, furniture by dusting, polishing and washing using appropriate supplies and equipment
- Clean toilets, lavatories, wash rooms, mop closets using appropriate supplies and equipment to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of such areas
- Empty waste receptacles and dispose of waste properly
- Serve and/or prepare food and clean areas used for preparing and serving food based on assignment
- Move and set up furniture to prepare rooms for meetings and/or special functions
- Make beds and change bed linens as required
- Inspect assigned areas to ensure work has been performed according to established procedures
