Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- a desire to help where needed and work as part of a team
- flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment
- active enrollment in high school or equivalent program (GED) or possession of high school diploma or GED
- basic CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- experience with customer service and public interaction
- exposure to ice sports is a plus
- experience with general housekeeping and maintenance
- knowledge of ice rink equipment and safety standards
- must prioritize safety and adhere to OSHA standards
Job Qualifications
- Active enrollment in high school or equivalent program (GED)
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- basic CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- experience and comfort in direct customer service and working with the public
- exposure to ice sports and affiliated associations is a plus
- experience with general housekeeping and maintenance
- knowledge of ice rink maintenance principles including ice resurfacer, edger, chiller, compressor, and lift
- understanding of OSHA safety standards and prioritizing safety in facility operations
Job Duties
- Give 110% effort towards customer service at all times
- responsible for resurfacing the ice using the Zamboni
- properly train to operate heavy machinery
- complete mandatory logs related to ice cuts and equipment
- perform continuous ice maintenance including full rink edge and corner shaving
- clean glass, player's benches, penalty boxes, coaches board, and decals
- inspect and repair on-ice equipment such as hockey nets and dividers
- enforce all facility rules, regulations and policies verbally and by example
- wear facility radio at all times and communicate professionally with coworkers
- maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility including trash removal, sweeping, and furniture upkeep
- perform maintenance tasks such as mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms and locker rooms
- assist in tracking inventory and report shortages or needed replacements
- perform special and additional tasks as assigned by manager or director
