Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five years of experience in facilities operations and management
  • Ability to perform physical activities including lifting 20-50 lbs, prolonged standing, sitting, and walking
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties
  • Clear verbal communication skills
  • Emotional resilience to work in noisy environments

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of experience in facilities operations and management
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with data analysis and report generation
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and inspection processes

Job Duties

  • Provide operational support and organization to the Facility Management Department including documentation, equipment management, staffing support and training
  • Manage project assignments for designated work areas
  • Coordinate the training and scheduling of department staff working in a 24/7 operation across multiple disciplines
  • Oversee Food Services, VCU Telecommunications, and other contracted services
  • Develop detailed reports for hospital administration to manage the Environment of Care
  • Maintain data to identify trends that support process improvement, equipment replacement, system upgrades, staffing resources and training needs
  • Represent the department for event planning and assist with inspections by The Joint Commission, CMMS, and Fire Marshal
  • Share on-call duties with other department members
