Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, materials, and safety rules
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motion for extended periods
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and climb stairs as required
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork orientation
  • Familiarity with custodial tools and power equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.)
  • Ability to mix and apply cleaning chemicals according to guidelines
  • Awareness of occupational hazards and ability to work safely

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in custodial work preferred but not required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

Job Duties

  • Maintaining clean and orderly facilities through routine and deep cleaning
  • Performing daily custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing floors
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
  • restocking supplies
  • Dusting furniture, walls, and other surfaces
  • Cleaning windows, mirrors, and partitions using approved chemicals
  • Emptying trash and removing waste from assigned areas daily
  • Shampooing or steam-cleaning carpets and rugs
  • Polishing and maintaining building fixtures
  • Handling cleaning solutions and chemicals safely in accordance with instructions
  • Using power cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor buffers
  • Following all safety protocols and hazard prevention guidelines
  • Managing inventory and informing supervisors of supply needs or maintenance issues
  • Performing additional custodial tasks as assigned
