Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • minimum 1-year experience with food preparation required
  • food handler permit required

  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals for clients as scheduled
  • follow all health codes pertaining to sanitation and safety including proper food preparation, cleanliness of work area and utensils, personal grooming
  • maintain kitchen inventory, order ingredients appropriately, store safely and efficiently
  • organize kitchen schedules, plan regular cleaning, design menus, coordinate cooking activities
  • understand kitchen equipment usage, retain recipes for consistency, cook in bulk and maintain portion control
  • maintain strict confidentiality of all client and foundation matters, report questionable issues to supervisor
  • perform additional duties as assigned consistent with non-exempt functions
