Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or culinary services
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs
  • Ability to maintain a clean and compliant kitchen environment
  • Capacity to safely interact with clients experiencing mental health challenges
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Availability to work weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a chef or in a culinary role
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements
  • Ability to develop menus and manage kitchen operations
  • Understanding of food safety and health regulations
  • Experience teaching or leading cooking classes preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Prepare daily meals according to approved menus, portion control standards, and dietary needs
  • Develop menus, forecast supply needs, order food, and manage kitchen costs within budget
  • Ensure all food preparation meets program requirements and health regulations
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and fully compliant kitchen environment at all times
  • Monitor kitchen safety and promptly report hazards or maintenance needs
  • Teach a weekly hands-on cooking class to clients as part of the therapeutic program
  • Maintain professional boundaries and support appropriate client and staff behavior in alignment with company policies
