Job Requirements
- Less than 2 years of experience
- Entry-level position
- No educational preference
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Must be flexible for 24/7 work hours
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of janitorial service methods, tools, and equipment
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety rules
- Understanding of proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Experience using janitorial tools like floor buffers and vacuum cleaners
- Physical ability to perform demanding cleaning tasks
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license preferred
- Strong safety and customer-focused attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow procedures
- Flexibility for 24/7 work environment
- Willingness to share knowledge and assist others
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity
Job Duties
- Sweeps and mops floors and stairways
- Gathers and disposes of rubbish and waste materials by hand or with the use of powered equipment
- Makes rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals
- Inspects doors, windows, and locks to ensure they are properly and securely fastened
- Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment and reports needed repairs or safety hazards
- Dusts blinds, furniture, file cabinets, and windowsills
- Assists with the installation and upkeep of bus stop shelters
- Maintains an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies
- Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using ladders
- Cleans grounds and parking lots of litter and debris
- Loads and unloads supplies and moves heavy furniture using dollies or carts
- Replaces light bulbs and fuses
- Performs ground maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and pressure washing
- Polishes furniture and metal work
- Performs other duties as assigned by management and supervisors
