Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of recreation program experience
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience approved by the department may be used
  • None required for licensing or certification

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate's Degree in parks and recreation or business administration preferred
  • Three years of recreation program experience
  • Knowledge of facility management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of program development and evaluation
  • Knowledge of risk management and emergency procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to make informed decisions and problem solve
  • Proficiency in recreation management software and scheduling systems

Job Duties

  • Oversight of a large, multi-generational community center space
  • Overseeing and training facility staff on building operations and customer service
  • Supervising staff including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, and managing discipline
  • Coordinating the daily facility schedule including permits for partner programs and rentals
  • Communicating and collaborating with community partners to expand facility offerings
  • Developing and updating facility policies and procedures
  • Coordinating and scheduling special event logistics such as meetings and training programs
  • Overseeing registration and payments for programs, processing receipts and revenues, and preparing financial reports
  • Overseeing facility supplies and inventory and making purchases
  • Ensuring program information displayed online is accurate and up to date
  • Monitoring operations to ensure safety and compliance with policies
  • Performing other duties as assigned
