Job Requirements

  • Valid Texas State driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of one year custodial or janitorial experience preferably commercial
  • Ability to pass Federal/National background check and meet CJIS standards
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Capability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and emergency demands
  • Physical stamina for repetitive and sustained tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Texas State driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of one year custodial or janitorial experience preferably in a commercial setting
  • Ability to pass a Federal/National criminal background check
  • Knowledge of janitorial methods, materials, and minor building maintenance
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials
  • Basic emergency response knowledge
  • Skill in using ladders safely
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and time management
  • Effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, and carpet shampooing
  • Maintain restrooms cleanliness and replenish supplies following sanitation standards
  • Handle light building maintenance including replacing light bulbs and air filters, moving furniture, assembling shelving, and minor repairs
  • Monitor and report facility issues, assist in repairs, and manage keyed security access
  • Coordinate with contracted extermination services as needed
  • Set up and break down furniture and equipment for City events
  • Participate in emergency duties before, during, or after emergency situations
