Job Requirements
- Ability to complete the Basic Facilities Service training program and obtain certification within probationary period
- Ability to perform custodial work
- Ability to operate equipment such as shampoo and scrubbing machines, wet and dry vacuums
- Ability to do heavy lifting and climb ladders
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English
- Ability to work well with others
- Computer skills as required
Job Qualifications
- Standard high school diploma or approved GED or special diploma preferred
- Two years of successful work experience with Broward County Public Schools in a similar role preferred
- Ability to perform custodial work
- Ability to operate labor-saving devices
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English
- Ability to work well with others
- Computer skills as required
- Bilingual skills preferred
Job Duties
- Clean all assigned areas such as cafeteria, restrooms, offices, gymnasium, halls, and outside areas as scheduled and per custodial standards
- Empty trash containers from various locations and dispose of waste properly
- Sweep, mop, brush, vacuum, strip and wax floors including walls and walkways
- Perform heavy lifting tasks related to waste disposal
- Wash and sanitize restroom facilities and replenish supplies
- Replace light bulbs and clean fixtures including filters
- Dust, wipe, wash and wax furniture and perform minor repairs
- Operate heavy equipment for floor maintenance
- Move or transport school furniture and equipment
- Change air conditioning filters and clean vents
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good condition
- Unload and store supplies and furniture
- Report supply needs and building maintenance issues
- Practices safety and ensure a safe working environment
- Record time and materials used for projects
- Comply with equal employment and non-discrimination policies
- Participate in training programs
- Follow safety rules and School Board policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
