Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Formal or informal education ensuring ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance
  • knowledge of proper procedures for lifting and moving heavy objects
  • knowledge of janitorial maintenance and procedures
  • appropriate use of chemicals, solvents, tools, and equipment
  • public relations and customer service skills
  • hazards and safety practices related to building maintenance and cleaning
  • ability to perform manual work
  • ability to follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
  • ability to communicate effectively with employees and the public

Job Duties

  • Perform maintenance and event set-up of Cultural Arts Center facilities
  • set up and tear down tables, chairs, and stages for events
  • service all events ensuring cleanliness and readiness
  • empty trash containers and maintain aisles and surrounding areas
  • perform janitorial maintenance including restroom and kitchen cleaning, stripping and waxing floors, and carpet maintenance
  • request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • respond tactfully and constructively to user department requests and complaints
