Job Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Hold a valid Michigan Driver’s License
- Maintain a driving record within agency limitations
- Have three to five years of relevant maintenance experience
- Be emotionally able to handle traumatic information and work with individuals in crisis
- Stand and walk up to 8 hours per shift
- Perform physical tasks including stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds
- Possess vision abilities including close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
- Work in environments with variable noise and discomfort
- Use computer workstations for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in spreadsheet and database software
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License with agency-approved driving record
- Minimum three to five years of maintenance experience in a large facility
- Skilled in basic repairs of mechanical, HVAC, major appliance, key and lock systems
- Ability to complete or oversee vendor repairs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of safety and chemical handling regulations
Job Duties
- Identify, log and perform or coordinate routine preventative maintenance including interior, exterior, mechanical and other equipment
- Identify and perform or coordinate building maintenance including structural, cosmetic, equipment and furniture repairs
- Troubleshoot maintenance incidents and perform immediate response to ensure safety and limit damage
- Complete and coordinate maintenance work of agency vehicles, including routine inspections, preventative maintenance and logging
- Identify tools and supplies necessary for duties and coordinate tool and equipment inventory
- Maintain SDS materials and handle cleaning supplies and chemicals safely
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous waste in compliance with health standards
- Perform routine monthly maintenance, safety and fire safety system inspections
- Identify and coordinate grounds upkeep
- Resolve safety and cleanliness issues
- Assist with donations storage, pickup and dissemination
- Coordinate setup, takedown and cleanup of agency events
- Move furniture, equipment and supplies as needed
- Assist with other agency programs as assigned
- Attend meetings and trainings
- Respond promptly to mechanical, HVAC, vehicle and safety issues, perform or facilitate repair
