Job Requirements

  • Be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Have six months of general custodial work experience or equivalent
  • Possess the ability to follow basic written instructions and simple diagrams
  • Have the ability to answer basic questions from the public courteously
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background checks
  • Ability to perform moderate physical labor including lifting 5 to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally more than 60 pounds
  • Work primarily indoors with some outdoor exposure
  • Ability to observe safety and security concerns and report appropriately

Job Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to follow basic written instructions and simple diagrams
  • Six months of general custodial work experience or equivalent
  • Ability to answer basic questions from the public in a courteous manner
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and a Federal and State criminal history background check

Job Duties

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation duties
  • Use vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, polishers, and hand cleaning supplies to maintain facilities
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals and follow safety regulations
  • Remove waste material to dumpsters and recycling collection locations
  • Remove snow from sidewalks and treat icy conditions with salt or sand
  • Water plants inside buildings and in immediate outdoor areas
  • Clean break areas and maintain supplies in restrooms
  • Perform cleaning and janitorial materials inventory and notify supervisor when stocks are low
  • May order department supplies and prepare purchase orders as directed
  • Receive janitorial supplies and store them properly
  • Observe and report safety and security issues including burnt out lights, unattended packages, and HVAC system problems
  • Perform work in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Monitor buildings and grounds for security and safety
  • Provide routine responses to public inquiries as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
