Job Requirements

  • Full-time availability, including Wednesdays through Sundays, evenings, and weekends
  • night and weekend availability
  • motivated self-starter with attention to detail
  • physical ability to perform janitorial duties including lifting and ladder work
  • strong communication skills
  • willingness to participate in team meetings and collaborate with contractors
  • ability to respond to emergency situations safely

Job Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in cleaning and maintenance related work
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to work off ladders and perform cleaning skills
  • capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • knowledge of basic best practices concerning facilities and janitorial standards
  • ability to follow security procedures outlined by Security department

Job Duties

  • Set up and tear down daily Museum events
  • maintain cleanliness in all Museum areas through daily routine cleaning
  • participate in weekly Event Operations Meetings
  • initiate event setup and teardown with contractors or clients as per Banquet Event Order
  • perform routine upkeep of exterior parking lot and perimeter
  • collect garbage and recycling daily across Museum spaces
  • communicate recycling and garbage needs during high volume events
  • restock and maintain facility and event storage spaces and report repair needs
  • identify and perform additional cleaning tasks
  • pressure wash exterior spaces, surfaces, and equipment
  • assist with ice and snow removal
  • respond to biohazard and emergency clean-ups maintaining high safety standards
  • practice Museum policies for safety of visitors, artwork, equipment, and property
  • other duties as assigned
