Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Part-time availability primarily weekends
- Willingness to work a 10-hour shift from 7 AM to 5:30 PM
- Ability to perform medium work involving exerting up to 50 pounds of force
- Ability to follow universal precautions and safety protocols
- Ability to perform housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Willingness to travel as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Maintains knowledge of standard housekeeping concepts, practices and procedures
- Understands and complies with residents’ rights and promotes independence and dignity
- Ability to work a 10-hour shift with possible overtime
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures including infection control and sanitation
- Ability to perform medium work involving lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met
- Cleans floor surfaces, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners, shampooers and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
- Empties trash receptacles and cleans and maintains windows, walls, woodwork, and light fixtures
- Recognizes the need for housing maintenance or hazards and submits work order for repair
- Follows universal precautions and strict procedures regarding cleaners or hazardous materials or objects and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices
- Disinfects equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers
- Observes precautions required to protect customer property, and reports damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors
- Sorts, counts and marks clothing and other articles, loads washing machines, and irons and folds dried items and stores them in linen closets
- Performs various errands such as taking laundry to the cleaners, buying groceries and household supplies
- Prepares rooms for meetings, and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions
- Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding residents’ rights
- Promotes independence, choice, and empowerment of individuals receiving services and treats individuals with dignity and respect
- Maintains knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures regarding housekeeping
- Performs other related duties and activities as required
