Job Requirements

  • High school education or GED preferred
  • One to three years experience in warehouse and office facility sanitation
  • Food industry sanitation experience preferred
  • Ability to read and write legibly
  • Ability to follow orders
  • Ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Safety-conscious
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment including reach trucks, pallet jacks, sweepers, floor scrubbers, balers, hydraulic trash compactors

  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, pallet jacks, sweepers, floor scrubbers, balers, and hydraulic trash compactors

Job Duties

  • Properly clean all areas, interior and exterior, in the warehouse and office of refuse as well as damaged product
  • Operate machinery including power pallet jacks, sweepers, and other equipment
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, kitchen lounges/break rooms, restrooms, corridors, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal areas
  • Pick up refuse from facility grounds
  • Sweep and clean entire warehouse to maintain required cleanliness levels
  • Empty trash bins and clean trash areas daily, operate trash compactor when applicable
  • Pull pallets and clean/scrub product bays on a rotating basis
  • Clean up spills or breakages to inventoried product while adhering to government and food safety requirements
  • Perform light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, collecting recyclables, and checking coolers for leaks or ice buildup
  • Prepare reports and forms documenting cleaning schedules, spillages, and product damage
  • Track and order maintenance supplies as necessary
  • Maintain facility grounds and dumpster areas
  • Safely use various cleaners and chemicals to complete tasks
  • Complete all required paperwork including downtime, HACCP, using SAP, SOPs, and safety protocols
  • Follow GMPs and perform other duties as assigned by department leads and supervisors
