Job Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, know basic math and basic measuring metrics
  • Understand and follow GMP, Food Safety, Allergen Program and Sanitation Procedures (SSOPs)
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and around loud moving machinery
  • Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly during shift
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks such as stand, walk, bend, lift, kneel, crouch, reach, stoop, squat, climb stairs throughout the shift
  • Able to work in cold, wet, and/or humid areas (30-40 Fahrenheit degrees) and resist strong food odor such as onions
  • Operate forklift, handle allergens and chemicals as needed
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance (painting, spackling, other)
  • Communicate and report any issues or errors found immediately to supervisor

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in facility custodial or sanitation roles preferred
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance practices including painting and wall repairs
  • Ability to operate forklift
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety, allergen control, and sanitation standard operating procedures
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform manual labor tasks consistently throughout shifts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shift changes
  • Willingness to rotate through different work areas and environmental conditions
  • Positive attitude towards supervising and training team members

Job Duties

  • Maintain the building and property in a clean and orderly condition
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floors
  • Gather and empty trash
  • Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities
  • Dust furniture, walls, and equipment
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions using appropriate cleaning agents
  • Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in preparation for cleaning, following proper instructions
  • Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Shampoo or steam-clean carpets and rugs
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and notify managers when stock is low
  • Perform minor maintenance activities such as painting, wall repairs, picture hanging, and changing light bulbs
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Perform seasonal tasks, including snow removal from walkways
  • Notify managers regarding any required building or equipment repairs
  • Assist the Maintenance Department by learning basic mechanical tasks, including equipment maintenance and minor repairs
