Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience with small machines like mowers, blowers and string trimmers
- basic carpentry skills
- ability to operate hand tools, landscaping tools, drills and ladders
- ability to frequently lift and move equipment up to 60 pounds
- ability to stand or walk for long periods
- effective communication skills
- must be at least 18 years old
- willingness to adhere to museum safety policies
- availability to work Tuesday through Saturday with flexible hours
- capability to perform physical tasks including climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling and lifting up to 80 pounds
- subject to pre-employment screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience and familiarity with small machines such as mowers, blowers and string trimmers
- understanding of landscaping and irrigation systems preferred
- drywall repair and painting experience a plus
- basic carpentry skills
- confident and motivated self-starter with attention to quality and detail
- effective communication skills with staff, volunteers and guests
- team-oriented with ability to work successfully with diverse backgrounds
- excellent organizational and time management skills
- ability to follow standard operating procedures and checklists with high accuracy
- Spanish speaking is a plus
- must be at least 18 years old
- subject to museum's pre-employment screening process
Job Duties
- Tree and plant care and maintenance including watering and pruning
- hardscape installation and maintenance such as flagstone walkways
- weed pulling and spraying
- landscape material maintenance and replacement
- lawn mowing, trimming and edging
- support general cleaning of property daily
- support routine light and filter changes
- perform special projects including general repairs and daily maintenance
- general painting and touch ups
- manage general daily operations responsibilities
- responsible for snow removal
- adhere to the museum's safety policies and procedures and encourage others to comply
