Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or commercial kitchen equipment repair
  • Valid Class E refrigeration license or ability to obtain
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and blueprints
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Availability to respond to emergency calls during non-standard hours
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Compliance with safety standards and protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and repair
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems without horsepower limitations (Class E certification preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and hazard recognition
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with maintenance of chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and emergency generators

Job Duties

  • Read approved plans/blueprints and specifications to determine and execute most efficient and effective method for the installation and repair of equipment
  • Utilize accepted principles and practices to make repairs as required to mechanical systems and kitchen equipment
  • Perform refrigeration work without limitation to horsepower capacity (Class E)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls problems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on existing equipment to minimize possibility of system shut downs
  • Recognize, evaluate and correct safety hazards and advise immediate supervisor of the problem
  • Respond to evening, weekend, and holiday emergency call for service
  • Maintenance on commercial equipment including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and emergency generators
  • Complete building walk-throughs and system installation commissioning of work performed by outside contractors
  • Perform various building inspection functions
  • Assist in other areas within the department when needed
  • Perform refrigeration work without limitation to horsepower capacity (Class E)
  • Troubleshoot and repair all kitchen equipment
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
