Job Requirements
- high school graduate
- graduate of commercial pilot certificate program
- minimum 1000 hours pilot in command time
- minimum 400 hours rotary wing flight instructor time
- current Class II medical flight physical
- secret security clearance
- knowledge of FAA 14 CFR parts 61, 91, 133, 135, 137, and 141
- ability to qualify as chief flight instructor for multi-engine rotary wing operations preferred
- ability to certify as Part 133 chief pilot after additional training
Job Qualifications
- minimum of 10 years aviation experience including 5 years rotary wing experience
- certified flight instructor with at least 400 hours as rotary wing CFI
- graduate of commercial pilot certificate program
- current Class II medical flight physical
- knowledge of FAA regulations Parts 61, 91, 133, 135, 137, and 141
- experience with flight instruction under FAA Part 141 and Part 61
- experience as chief or assistant chief flight instructor
- turbine engine qualified
- capability to qualify as chief pilot for Part 133 operations
- secret security clearance
- experience with external load operations preferred
- previous Part 135 chief pilot experience desired
Job Duties
- conduct primary and advanced helicopter flight and ground training
- perform initial and annual proficiency checks for flight instructors
- supervise rotary wing scheduling and flight training activities
- monitor instructor performance and ensure FAA compliance
- serve as liaison with FAA Flight Standardization District Office
- develop and update flight training curriculum and FAA Training Course Outlines
- maintain flight training records and conduct classroom instruction
