Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a coffee shop or restaurant environment
  • Previous leadership or team lead experience
  • Ability to work 28 hours per week including mid-week mornings and weekends
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to use POS software and manage inventory
  • Must affirm alignment with The Grove's Statement of Faith and Foundational Beliefs

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in coffee shop or restaurant operations
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and mentor staff effectively
  • Familiarity with POS systems, preferably Square
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a food service environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting
  • Commitment to and alignment with the church's Statement of Faith and Foundational Beliefs

Job Duties

  • Mentor, train and supervise front of house staff, including coffee bar staff and volunteers
  • Manage team performance and compliance with SOPs to ensure smooth operations
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Support and carry out the vision, policies and decisions of the Hub Cafe and Coffee Bar Manager
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage expediter position during operational hours
  • Keep clear communication between the front and back of the house during operational hours
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages and food items, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Utilize POS (Square) Software to maintain, update, create and modify menus, and troubleshoot as needed
  • Manage inventory and keep communication between management of inventory
  • Collaborate with team on specials menu and display signage for communication
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Control costs and minimize waste
  • Reconcile accounts as needed weekly with the Hub Coffee Bar and Cafe Manager
  • Attend team meetings, all staff meetings, staff devotions, and training
  • Join church all-staff meetings and devotions when available
  • Attend any mandatory training
  • Model Biblical principles in interactions with staff, church attendees, and event attendees
