Job Requirements
- Minimum 12 months of verifiable Class A commercial driving experience or recent CDL school graduates from vetted school
- valid commercial driver’s license
- must be at least 21 years old
- ability to operate loaded pallet jack and power lifts
- excellent driving record with no chargeable accidents or violations
- punctual with time management and delivery schedules
- trustworthiness and ability to work independently
- ability to handle and complete paperwork
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- physical capability to perform delivery driver duties
- courteous and respectful manner at stores
- maintain neat and professional appearance
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 12 months of verifiable Class A commercial driving experience or recent CDL school graduates from vetted schools
- successful completion of the Food City Distribution Center Road Test with emphasis on backing skills
- ability to handle and complete associated paperwork
- excellent driving record with no chargeable accidents or violations such as DWI or reckless driving and limited state licensure points
- valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- at least 21 years old
- ability to operate a loaded pallet jack and power lifts
- punctual with time management and delivery schedules
- trustworthy and able to work independently with minimum supervision
- responsible for safe operation, security and maintenance of vehicle and merchandise
- ability to properly use all equipment and follow verbal and written instructions
- expert knowledge of truck driving techniques and accident prevention
- able to maintain physical demands qualifications

Job Duties
- Perform pre-trip inspection of equipment checking for fluid leaks, damage to tires, service brakes including trailer brake connections, all lights and trailer electrical connections, coupling devices including visual inspection of fifth-wheel, jaws around the shank of the trailer slider and locking pins, flaps, heater and defroster, battery boxes, safety equipment, oil pressure, air pressure, abnormal engine noise, wheel lug nuts
- fuel equipment as needed and check water and oil
- drive over generally established routes to make deliveries and pick-ups
- assist in loading and unloading merchandise including some lifting and pulling/pushing of pallet jacks
- prepare paperwork with attention to detail and accurate reporting of delivered or picked up products
- pick up empty trailers for return involving detaching and reattaching tractor
- operate pick up and product loading equipment and perform yard-switching duties as required
- adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation and operate company equipment safely and professionally considering weather, traffic and road conditions
