Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • minimum 2 years experience as a line cook in a full-service restaurant
  • culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • strong food safety and sanitation knowledge
  • experienced in high-volume restaurant or sushi bar
  • excellent communication and teamwork
  • leadership experience
  • adaptability to menu and customer preferences
  • strong time management
  • attention to detail
  • creative presentation
  • dedication to quality
  • willingness to teach junior staff
  • availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • knowledge of sushi preparation techniques
  • proficiency with kitchen software
  • certified in ServSafe or equivalent
  • able to stand for extended periods
  • able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • able to work in high temperatures
  • willing to follow directions and ask questions when needed

Job Duties

  • prepare sushi dishes with precision and creativity
  • ensure sushi dishes are visually appealing and meet quality standards
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of sushi preparation areas
  • follow food safety and hygiene guidelines meticulously
  • train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques
  • collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely service during busy periods
