Job Requirements

  • Follow all prescribed portioning controls and par levels
  • maintain food safety and quality standards
  • ability to read a thermometer correctly and efficiently
  • communicate any food delays or issues to coordinator
  • maintain menu item counts and communicate shortages to management and service staff
  • accurately account for all items coming out of the station
  • understand and follow food allergy procedures and special orders
  • comply with safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
  • follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment including those in the Employee Handbook
  • work well with others and be a team player
  • availability to work varied shifts including weekends
  • other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working as a line cook or in a similar culinary role
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow recipes and presentation standards
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • culinary training or education is a plus
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools
  • understanding of portion controls and par levels

Job Duties

  • Executing menu items from start to finish
  • preparation of ingredients
  • butchery of proteins
  • cooking and plating of menu items
  • honing existing culinary skills while learning new techniques
  • working collaboratively with BOH and FOH staff
  • maintaining cleanliness of BOH work areas including refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
  • participating in deep cleaning of BOH work areas
  • working various hours, days and shifts including weekends
  • safely and effectively using tools and equipment including knives
  • effectively communicating in written and spoken form to follow job requirements
