Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in bartending or hospitality preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • knowledge of state and local liquor laws
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • good physical health
  • age legal for alcohol service
  • ability to maintain grooming standards
  • strong organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure security and confidentiality of guest and hotel information
  • suggestively sell menu items, beverages, and wines
  • work without direct supervision
  • promote specials and maintain complete knowledge of liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, wines/champagnes, designated glassware and garnish for drinks, bar menu items preparation, bar layouts and seating, service procedures, equipment use, department policies, daily specials, hotel services and local attractions
  • maintain strict adherence to state liquor regulations
  • monitor problems with intoxicated guests and report to the manager
  • check storage area for proper supplies, organization, and cleanliness
  • check quality and amounts of garnishes
  • ensure bar setups meet cleanliness and departmental standards
  • ensure bar environment compliance with cleanliness and order
  • adhere to grooming and attire policies
  • ensure the bar is properly stocked before shifts
  • anticipate guests needs and respond promptly
  • monitor guest complaints and notify management
