Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a food runner, expediter, or in a similar high-volume hospitality role
  • strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
  • in-depth knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and plating standards
  • ability to lead by example, motivate others, and maintain a positive team atmosphere
  • physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry multiple plates for extended periods
  • availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift up to 30 lbs

Job Duties

  • Act as the central point of communication between kitchen staff and servers
  • organize and prioritize tickets to maintain optimal service flow during peak periods
  • double-check each plate for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before leaving the kitchen
  • personally run and deliver food to tables during high-volume service
  • direct other runners to assigned tables to ensure timely delivery
  • assist with special requests, dietary modifications, and guest needs
  • train and mentor new food runners on menu knowledge, table etiquette, and service standards
